Welcome 2010 and A New Decade

A Very Happy, Prosperous, Healthy and Successful New Year to all of You, who happened to drop by, either by regular habit or casually.

We concluded an eventful first decade of the 21st Century yesterday.

Full of major events such as the 9/11 (11th Sep 2001) and the 26/11 (26th Nov 2008). The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, wherein hundreds of thousands of citizens perished, most of them innocent civilians. Personification of corporate and personal greed, starting with Enron and ending with Satyam. Arthur Andersen to Price Waterhouse. Two great Indian Elections. The spectacle of the plasticized Beijing Olympics. The rise of China and India. The rise and fall of the oil/gas-driven Russian economy. The neo-colonialists of the Bush era. The first Black President of the United States. The fastest Nobel Peace Prize ever awarded to a President who is yet to deliver on his promises and speeches/slogans. The intransigence of North Korea and Iran. The settlement with Libya. And many more events which polarized the world.

Let us hope for a more peaceful decade now, without wars and unnecessary casualties. Without animosity created by religions and politics. Let us hope for the upliftment of the poor peoples of the world. Let us banish hunger.

Let us together welcome 2010, and the start of a brand new decade in a true spirit of peace and prosperity for the world’s people.

Cheers,
